Description

Turns out, the Norse Eddas are far more than mere myth. Reality is a multiverse with our own world, Midgard, made up of distinct Threads of cause and effect that weave in and out of each other all the time, invisible to mortals.

And the gods of our ancestors are real too, in their own way: beings from other realities with astonishing power compared to mortals. So much, in fact, that they’ve broken ours – with fatal consequences for themselves.

When a group of college-age friends on spring break accidentally release a malevolent god from his divine prison, they trigger the countdown to the end of days: the three dread seasons fated to culminate in Ragnarok: the twilight of the gods and the death of all worlds.

Split across time and trapped at critical points in past and future history, Eryn, Timur, Kim, Patrick, Loucas, and Yarielis are forced to become six unlikely heroes fighting to slow the inexorable march to the End of Days – Norse style.

No small task when caught up in three of humanity’s most apocalyptic wars:

  • In 1944 Germany, where the audacious Valkyrie plot by the German Resistance that seeks to assassinate Hitler and overthrow the Nazi regime is underway;
  • In 2041 post-America, as factions squabble over an arsenal of nuclear weapons beneath the former state of Montana;
  • In the colonized solar system of 2147, a time when exiled human insurgents work with sentient spaceships to fight the oppressive Earth-based regime.

With all hopes for the future fading fast, the six friends must learn the hard ways of war in order to survive and push back against the oncoming tide. They’ll need all the skills and help they can muster.

Because the first season of Fimbulwinter has arrived – and the countdown to Ragnarok is on.
